Electronic (Using your CalCareer Account) Job Description and Duties As an employee of the facility of a Level of Care (LOC), Pre-Licensed Psychiatric Technician (PLPT), may be required to work on any shift, any day of the week and on any residence/training site at the Developmental Center. Under the direction of the supervisory staff, a PLPT provides direct care, treatment and active treatment of the individuals where they are assigned, to develop a better understanding of individuals and to help our individuals achieve the maximum level of their abilities. The services provided fall within the scope of the job as specified by the California State Personnel Board. Effective October 1, 2025, State employees are subject to a salary reduction of three (3) percent in exchange for five (5) hours per month of the Personal Leave. Temporary state housing may be available for those relocating to fill hard to recruit positions. Housing assignments and rates will be determined in accordance with Department policy, operational priorities, and applicable labor agreements. Must possess and maintain sufficient strength, agility, endurance and sensory abilities to perform the duties contained in the duty statement. Must be able to lift 50 pounds without assistance; must be able to participate in client containment, intervention or restraint. Must have the ability to work extended hours and various shifts; must float to all work areas within the facility if called upon to do so.
