Job Description

Job Summary Join our innovative team as a Precision Agriculture Technician, where you will play a vital role in optimizing farm productivity through advanced technology and equipment maintenance. This dynamic position combines hands-on technical work with cutting-edge agricultural solutions, ensuring precision farming tools operate at peak performance. You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of farm machinery and industrial equipment, utilizing your mechanical expertise to support modern agricultural practices. Duties Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on precision farming equipment including Precision Planting equipment, GPS-guided tractors, variable rate applicators, and sensor systems Troubleshoot and repair complex machinery such as harvesters, planters, sprayers, and other farm machinery utilizing schematics and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) manuals Conduct diagnostics on electronic control systems, hydraulics, transmissions, air brake systems, and electrical components to identify issues accurately Fabricate custom parts or modifications using hand tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques to enhance equipment performance Operate heavy machinery including excavators, forklifts, and other industrial equipment safely and efficiently during maintenance or installation tasks Interpret schematics and technical manuals to ensure precise repairs and alignments of equipment components Maintain detailed service records, logs of repairs performed, and schedules for upcoming maintenance tasks to ensure operational readiness Experience Proven dealership experience or hands-on work with farm machinery or industrial equipment is highly desirable, 2 years preferred. Mechanical knowledge spanning diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, and HVAC systems used in heavy equipment Skilled in automotive diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, welding, soldering, and the use of power tools for repairs and fabrication Experience with heavy equipment operation such as excavators or forklifts is preferred Familiarity with OEM specifications, schematics interpretation, and vehicle maintenance procedures Customer service experience to effectively communicate technical issues with team members or clients Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently while maintaining attention to detail during repairs or installations This role is perfect for mechanically inclined individuals eager to advance their careers in precision agriculture technology.
