The Preconstruction Executive is part of the Preconstruction Department team. This person will report to the Director of Preconstruction. The Preconstruction Executive shall be measured by seamless transition of work from Preconstruction to Operations, by maintaining and developing new customer relationships, and the ability to procure additional work for the mechanical business unit. The duties of the preconstruction executive include, but are not limited to, the following: Be involved in the "front-end" of a project and support the needs of the customer. Also, be involved with any conflicts which may arise with customers during the project and support operations (cradle to grave mentality). Secure quotes for equipment, trade partners, piping, labor, and various materials to create conceptual budgets to satisfy customer needs and requirements. Ability to work with the estimating and operations teams, engineers, architects, owners, VDC, and prefabrication departments to assist in developing designs for potential future clients and projects. They will engage the purchasing department for early equipment purchases and long lead items based on schedule demands. They shall have the ability to "fill in the blanks" from a design assist role using incomplete documents from design teams. They will also recommend solutions to meet customer needs and budgets with regard to HVAC and plumbing. The Preconstruction Executive will be able to manage design build/design assist work and budgets with a design team consisting of business development, construction managers, engineers, designers, and trade subcontractors Ability to turnover and explain the thought process behind the budget, challenges which may be encountered, and discuss the relationships developed with the customer to the operations team. Create proposals for potential projects and be able to meet deadlines required for the work
Qualifications:
5+ years in mechanical or plumbing design or relevant experience. Knowledge and clear understanding of the construction industry specifically regarding HVAC and Plumbing design Experience in Business Development/Customer relations in the construction industry Results and deadline driven team player Ability to support design teams by providing necessary guidance to achieve a constructable design for mechanical systems Detail Oriented, able to meet timelines with a sense of urgency Ability to estimate or provide conceptual budgets mechanical or plumbing systems
