Aug 20, 2025 Job Description The BUUSD is seeking Prekindergarten Classroom Paraeducators for the 2026-2027 school year to work with prekindergarten students. The Prekindergarten Classroom Paraeducator supports the lead teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children (ages 3-5). Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): Support lead teacher with classroom activities Prep, set up and organization of classroom materials Supervising children during all classroom activities, on the playground and during outdoor learning Set up and clean up of meals Supporting children's hygiene routines (including toileting, diaper changes and other needs that may arise) Supporting the maintenance of a clean and organized learning space Support and foster positive social interactions, developmentally appropriate learning, and ensure the well-being of all students This job comes with a full benefits package. The starting pay rate for this position is $20 to $21, depending on experience and education.

Job Requirements:

Previous experience working with prek children and early education training/education for at least one year is highly preferred Applicants without any courses in early childhood education will be required to take a child development course offered through the local community college within one year of hire, as required by the Vermont Child Development Division Applicants must have a high school degree or GED and pass a Paraeducator Assessment, which is administered by appointment at the BUUSD Central Office OR An Associate's Degree/minimum of 48 undergraduate credits For complete job description, click here.
