Prep Cook

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a keen eye for detail, ensuring that all ingredients are prepared to the highest standards. This role is essential in supporting our kitchen operations and delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests. Duties Prepare and assemble ingredients for cooking, including chopping, slicing, and measuring. Assist in menu planning by providing input on seasonal ingredients and dish ideas. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, adhering to food safety standards. Follow recipes accurately to ensure consistency in food preparation. Support the cooking staff during meal service by preparing items as needed. Ensure proper food handling techniques are followed to maintain hygiene and safety. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations and timely meal delivery. Participate in catering events as required, assisting with meal preparation and presentation. Experience Previous experience in a dietary department or as a dietary aide is preferred. Familiarity with menu planning, food preparation, cooking, and food service operations. Experience in the food industry or restaurant environment is highly desirable. Strong culinary skills, including knife skills and meal preparation techniques. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling. Previous catering experience is a plus but not mandatory. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining attention to detail.
