Job Description

Prep & Line Cook Location:
Landgrove, Vermont (Southern VT)
Compensation:
$20-$25/hour + 401(k) match; staff meals About The Landgrove We're a 16-room historic inn with a beloved Art Studio and full-service restaurant, hosting 35-40 art workshops a year with nationally and internationally known artists—on 23 acres in Vermont's Green Mountains, next door to the Catamount, Long, and Appalachian Trails,, and a alpine and cross-country skiing paradise in winter. Under new ownership, we're preserving the inn's soul while transforming service, food, and programming for families, artists, and nature lovers. We're looking for entrepreneurial, humble, action-oriented people with positive energy to help us with our mission to be a genuinely kind place that strengthens our community. The Role We're seeking a dependable, motivated Prep & Line Cook to support our Executive Chef in prep, line, and expo during service, while building skills and taking on more responsibility over time. This is a strong opportunity for someone who wants to grow under experienced Executive Chef John Gould . In addition to supporting service on primary restaurant nights, this role may also serve as the primary cook 1-2x per week from spring through fall when the restaurant is not open to the public, preparing dinner for small inn groups of roughly 8-20 guests from a limited menu. There will also be opportunities to contribute ideas and help develop menu items. What You Bring 1-3+ years of kitchen experience preferred, or strong skills, work ethic, and willingness to learn Ability to handle prep, line, and fast-paced service with consistency Good knife skills, time management, and attention to detail Calm under pressure, dependable, and team-oriented Interest in growing as a cook and learning under an experienced Executive Chef Able to lift 30 lbs and stand for long periods Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed Schedule 35-40+ hours per week; variable schedule based on restaurant service, inn groups, workshops, and events Benefits & Perks Market pay 401(k) with up to 4% match VT-compliant sick time Staff meals Strong opportunity for learning and growth Awesome team and culture Best natural mountain village setting in the world
