Duties Assist with food prep activities, including chopping, slicing, and portioning ingredients to support meal preparation and menu planning. Operate dishwashing equipment to thoroughly clean dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen tools, ensuring all items are sanitized and ready for use. Maintain cleanliness of kitchen stations, including counters, sinks, floors, and storage areas, adhering to food safety standards. Handle food items safely by following proper food handling procedures and maintaining hygiene protocols throughout all tasks. Support kitchen staff during busy service times by organizing supplies and ensuring timely availability of clean dishes and utensils. Assist in basic food preparation tasks such as assembling ingredients for meals or catering events under supervision. Follow all safety guidelines related to knife skills, food handling, and equipment operation to promote a safe working environment. Experience Previous dietary department or dietary aide experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided. Experience in food service, restaurant settings, or the food industry is highly valued. Familiarity with kitchen operations including meal preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety practices is advantageous. Knowledge of menu planning and catering processes can enhance your contribution to the team. Strong understanding of food handling procedures and sanitation standards is essential for maintaining health regulations. Prior experience with culinary tasks such as knife skills or basic cooking is a plus but not mandatory.
