Candidates must hold a standard New Jersey certification as a P-3 Teacher, Teacher of Students with Disabilities, or Educational Services Specialist (LDTC, Social Worker, Psychologist, or Speech Specialist). Applicants should have experience working with preschool-aged children and demonstrate strong knowledge of early childhood development, Creative Curriculum, Pyramid Model, and performance-based assessments. Strong skills in providing professional development, mentoring teachers, and supporting classroom behavior management are also essential.Job Responsibilities:
Support both in-district and partner preschool classrooms on a regular basis to observe classroom practices as well as provide strategies to support children who are exhibiting difficulty in the classroom as indicated through the screening process or the observation of the classroom teacher and Preschool Instructional Coaches (PICs). Supports child screening and assessment process. Analyzes and evaluates data collected by teaching staff, developing reports to share outcomes with administration, governing bodies and stakeholders. Uses data to help teachers inform instruction. Coordinates PIRT team meetings and intervention plans, supports teachers and parents with implementation of plans, take/keep notes and data to measure efficacy. Monitor the number of RFAs and number of students referred to the district child study team. Conduct classroom observations using the Teaching Pyramid Observation Tool (TPOT) Coaches teachers in use of effective behavioral strategies and plans using curriculum-based supports as well as the Pyramid Model and Positive Behavior Supports. Helps to plan and provide professional development for all early childhood staff. Provides individualized or small-group follow-up training/support (e.g., modeling classroom practices and lessons, facilitating PLC/data meetings, planning and implementing workshops, etc.) based on data, observation, district and building priorities. Confers regularly with the Preschool Instructional Coach(es], Preschool Social Worker and CPIS to plan for smooth transitions for students and in planning parent involvement activities (e.g., sharing GOLD and other data with kindergarten staff, planning parent workshops together, etc.) Performs additional duties as assigned that are directly related to early childhood classroom improvement.Computer Skills :
Proficient in computer applications pertinent to support the position, including but not limited to Student Information Systems; Databases; Interactive Whiteboard technology; student performance management systems; Google, and office and personal applications and devices.Physical Demands :
