Variety Child Learning Center (VCLC) is a private, not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting young children with special needs and their families.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a caring and dedicated Special Education Teacher Aide or Teacher Assistant to join our team. This position is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with special needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Help with classroom setup, organization, and clean-up.
• Review and understand each student's IEP and provide feedback and observations for reports and reviews.
• Work with individual students or small groups to support IEP goals, social skills, and communication.
• Assist the classroom teacher in implementing behavior plans (BIPs) and classroom management strategies.
• Collect and maintain data related to student progress and behavior.
• Support the implementation of curriculum aligned with New York State Pre-K Standards, focusing on learning, physical development, social-emotional growth, communication, and cognition.

Qualifications:

• Highschool Diploma required
• Experience working with children in special education or early childhood settings (preferred.) Why Join VCLC?

Salary:

$17.50 - $20.50 per hour

Schedule:

Monday to Friday Full Time (8:00 am-3:00pm) OR Part Time (10:00am-2:00pm)
