Pressure Vessel Fitter

Vessel Fitters to support certified Vessel Welders in pressure vessel and pipe fabrication operations. This role focuses on precision fit-up, alignment, joint preparation, and weld readiness to ensure code-compliant welding per ASME standards. The ideal candidate has strong pipe fitting experience in heavy wall and vessel applications and understands weld joint preparation requirements for

GMAW/FCAW/TIG

processes. Key Responsibilities Perform precision fit-up of pressure vessel components (shells, heads, nozzles, saddles) Fit pipe spools, branch connections, and heavy-wall assemblies Prepare joints for welding (bevel verification, root gap control, alignment) Maintain proper weld spacing and tolerance per ASME code Work directly alongside vessel welders during fit and weld sequences Use fit-up clamps, strongbacks, dogs, wedges, and alignment tools Verify dimensions and tolerances prior to welding Ensure all assemblies meet print specifications and isometric drawings Support welders during multi-pass welding operations Follow all safety procedures and hot work protocols Support Vessel Assembly and parts assembly for welders, able to tack weld the assembly to support Vessel welder Required Qualifications ✔ 3+ years industrial pipe fitting experience ✔ Experience supporting code vessel welding ✔ Ability to read and interpret isometrics and fabrication drawings ✔ Understanding of weld symbols and joint prep requirements ✔ Experience with heavy wall pipe (2"+ schedule 160 or thicker preferred) ✔ Strong mechanical aptitude and layout skills ✔ Ability to work overtime as required Able to pass the Super Coupon test GMAW Root FCAW Fill Cap 6g 2 inch pipe test Preferred Experience Pressure vessel fabrication (ASME Section VIII familiarity) Experience fitting for 6G weld procedures Turnaround or fabrication shop experience Tack welding experience (if qualified)

$31.50 - $32.00 per hour Application Question(s): This is a weekly W2 position. 4 months long contracting role. 60-70 hrs a week position. Hourly rate $32. No per diem. Overtime pay- $48/hr. We are looking for the Fitters who are familiar with the 6G Super Coupon Test and able to decently pass the GMAW root FCAW fill/cap 6G, 2" super coupon
