As a retail grocer, we operate 7 days/week and 365 days/year. Our in-store positions are likely to include evening, weekend, and holiday shifts per the needs of the business. Must complete and maintain any required food and work safety trainings/certifications.About the role:
Coordinates Price File department operations and work, including the production and maintenance of store pricing and signage. Provides exceptional customer service and contributes to a positive and collaborative team environment. T his is a management / leadership position. Manages and provides oversight to all areas of the department. Assesses, prioritizes and delegates tasks and production. Creates and hangs shelf signs and tags for all departments, including UPC, PLU, special pricing, price changes, and add/drops. Maintains awareness of and plans for signage needs for weekly ads, promotions, events and holidays. Maintains accurate pricing and signage that meet merchandising standards. Partners with Promotions Manager to maintain current promotional signage throughout the store. Responds to technical issues leveraging knowledge, experience and resources. Troubleshoots or seeks solutions to programming, pricing and signage issues. Develops and maintains systems for sign requests. Maintains good working relationships with store staff, marketing and merchandising teams, computer/register support and vendors. Works collaboratively with other departments in the store to meet store merchandising standards. Maintains the organization and cleanliness of the price file work areas. Handles damaged and spoiled product according to company policy. Demonstrates ability to multi-task and manage own time. Adjusts priorities, productivity, efficiency and speed based on needs and conditions of department and store. Delivers exceptional service and demonstrates friendly and attentive behaviors with internal and external customers. Engages internal and external customers in a friendly manner, shares information, assists in locating resources, and seeks opportunities to enhance the customer experience. Ensures that department adheres to company invoice, credit, transfers and inventory procedures. Coaches department to maintain appropriate, accurate and organized inventory and back stock. Handles damaged and spoiled product according to company policy. Leverages resources and labor to maximize efficiency, without compromising quality and service standards. Manages and provides oversight to all areas of the department. Directly manages all department staff, including performance management and review writing, scheduling, and providing ongoing training, coaching, development and feedback. Assesses, prioritizes and delegates tasks and production. Demonstrates an understanding of basic Human Resources concepts; works with resources at store level to increase knowledge. Establishes and maintains effective verbal and written communication systems. Tools and Equipment Used (not all inclusive): This position may be required to use the following tools and equipment: baler, hand truck, POS, industrial kitchen equipment (i.e. blast chiller, grill, knives/blades, oven, grills, scales, etc.), basic housekeeping / janitorial and standard office equipment. This position works at a •Light level. Required frequently and up to continuously to be on feet with a mix of standing and walking throughout shift. Sitting seldom required. Up to occasionally, dependent on location, required to climb stairs, step stool and /or ladders. Frequently required to use hands and wrists for grabbing, twisting and pulling. Performs other tasks and duties as assigned. •Light means the worker has the ability to occasionally (1 - 33%) lift 20 pounds and can frequently (34 - 66%) lift or carry objects weighing up to 10 pounds. What you Bring as aCandidate:
Previous customer service, food service, retail or grocery experience required. Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment Skills to work with a high degree of accuracy. Skills to train, coach and hold staff accountable. Skills to plan, prioritize and delegate work. Knowledge of retail pricing operations, graphic design, file maintenance or sign making experience preferred. Basic to intermediate math and computation skills required. Skills to read, understand and follow through on verbal and written instructions. Previous supervisory or management experience highly preferred. Intermediate to advanced level proficiency with MS Office with skills to learn new software and technology. Working knowledge with POS, inventory, pricing or sign making programs or other retail specific software preferred.Physical and Environmental Work Space:
Work occurs in a grocery store environment which includes surfaces that can be wet and slippery, depending on location may have stairs or elevators, moderate noise level, and temperature extremes in controlled environments in the cooler and freezer, and depending on location, working outside in all temperatures.
