Primary Therapist:
Position Overview :
The Primary Therapist is responsible for providing comprehensive therapeutic services to individuals and groups. This position plays a key role in supporting clients' mental health , substance abuse and wellness, working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective treatment plans tailored to meet the specific needs of each client.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Assessment :
Conduct thorough initial assessments, including interviews and standardized diagnostic tools, to evaluate the client's mental health, history, and treatment needs. Review medical records, treatment plans, and other documentation to ensure a holistic understanding of each client. Develop and document individualized treatment plans that align with client goals, mental health diagnoses, and progress over time.
Therapeutic Services :
Provide individual and group therapy sessions to clients, using evidence-based therapeutic techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), or other modalities. Address a variety of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, mood disorders, and behavioral issues. Monitor client progress regularly and adjust treatment plans as needed to ensure ongoing improvement. Facilitate crisis intervention as necessary and collaborate with emergency services when appropriate.
Collaboration :
Work closely with interdisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, case managers,, and other clinicians to ensure comprehensive care. Participate in treatment planning meetings, and other collaborative forums to share insights and contribute to client care decisions. Coordinate with external providers, such as family members, schools, or other healthcare professionals, as needed to provide holistic care.
Documentation and Record-Keeping :
Maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date client records in compliance with organizational policies and relevant healthcare regulations Document therapy sessions, treatment goals, progress notes, and any other relevant interactions in a timely manner. Prepare and submit reports, treatment summaries, and assessments as required by management, insurance providers, or external agencies.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience :
Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field. Active and unrestricted licensure as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or equivalent in the state of employment. Associates are welcome to apply !
