Private Grant Writer

Here at gpac we are working with a wonderful nonprofit organization that is looking for a Private Grant Writer to join their diverse team! This is an on-site position in Knoxville, IA. This position reports to the Foundations and Corporate Grants Manager and will be a part of the Development Department. This individual may additionally receive direction from the CEO, CDO, and the Director of Development.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Write, edit, and format private grant proposals, reports, and other funding deliverables
• Work independently and in collaboration with program and fundraising staff
• Ensure all written materials accurately reflect the agency's mission, policies, and programs in a compelling manner
• Submit accurate and complete private grant applications, letters of intent, reports, and other documents as directed by the Grants Manager
• Identify new private grant funding sources
• Enter relevant information into the Development Departments donor management system as necessary

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree and 2-3 years of relevant experience writing grants and/or proposals
• Strong written communication skills
• Able to write and edit clear, structured, articulate, and persuasive proposals
• Excellent multi-tasking skills
• Knowledge of fundraising information sources and fundraising techniques and strategies
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Knowledge of donor management systems preferred
