The Maternity Center at Union Hospital is designed for the needs of mothers and their babies in a warm, family-centered environment. As an RN on this team, you will work with patients when they are most vulnerable, scared and excited. It will be your goal to ensure that the patient and baby are safe. You will learn well-rounded skills by working in various areas of the unit such as Labor & Delivery, scrubbing in c-sections, triage, post- partum and nursery. A PRN caregiver in this position works varying days and hours from 7:00AM - 7:30PM or 7:00PM - 7:30AM, including rotating weekends and holidays. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Provide direct nursing care. Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans. Monitor, record, document and communicate patients' conditions. Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Note and carry out physician and nursing orders. Assess and coordinate patients' discharge needs. Maintain professional growth and development through ongoing formal and informal education and clinical nursing study . Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program) Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross •If in a Critical Care area , an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross must be presented upon hire or within first year of employment.External applicants:

if less than two years' experience but post orientation/90-day probationary period could be considered with Chief Nursing Officer level review and approval Will consider licensed military RN experience Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) OB and/or labor and delivery experiencePhysical Requirements:
Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours. Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids. Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.Pay Range Minimum hourly:
$41.00 Maximum hourly: $45.00 The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set and education. The pay range displayed does not include any applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.).
