Product Design Engineer

Description Lead end‑to‑end product design for connector and high‑speed interconnect products, from concept through production release Design injection‑molded and progressive die‑stamped components, with strong focus on manufacturability and high‑speed production Own tight‑tolerance mechanical design, tolerance stack‑ups, and GD&T to balance performance, yield, and cost Develop designs compatible with reel‑to‑reel processes, plating, forming, and final assembly Serve as a technical authority on connector architecture, materials, tooling considerations, and production constraints Partner cross‑functionally with manufacturing, tooling, plating, process, quality, test, suppliers, sales, and marketing Provide engineering input for product scoping, feasibility, and cost modeling Troubleshoot and resolve design and manufacturing issues during NPD, pilot builds, and production ramp‑up Ensure compliance with engineering standards, documentation, CAD models, and release processes Mentor and influence design direction while driving robust, scalable product solutions Skills full product lifecycle, product lifecycle, new product design, product design, connector, interconnect, interconnector product, high speed design, injection mold design, progressive dies, die stamping, electric interconnects, plating processes, Solidworks, Autocad Top Skills Details full product lifecycle,product lifecycle,new product design,product design,connector,interconnect,interconnector product,high speed design,injection mold design,progressive dies,die stamping,electric interconnects,plating processes Additional Skills & Qualifications Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar CAD platforms.

Strong understanding of:

Plastic materials and molding constraints Metal stamping design principles Tooling limitations and capabilities Ability to interpret and create detailed engineering drawings and GD&T. Experience working within corporate engineering standards for documentation, file management, and release processes. Familiarity with simulation tools (FEA, thermal modeling, etc.) is a plus, but not mandatory.
