Production Arborist Specialty At Hugo Tree we specialize in dangerous and difficult removals. We take pride in our thorough job performance and client satisfaction. As a production arborist your goal is to get trees on the ground in a safe, efficient, and productive manner. Utilizing various cutting and rigging techniques in combination with the correct equipment for the job. Becoming a production arborist means you are willing to take on these additional responsibilities and requirements as well as maintain your core position of groundie. Everyone at Hugo Tree is a groundie however, specializations open the opportunity for better pay, certifications, and career advancement. Some responsibilities are; Be able to identify the correct tree or trees relating to the work order. Be able to communicate your plan for the cut work to the rest of the on-site team. Maintain/inspect gear including but not limited to; climbing harness, ropes, pulleys, blocks, saws, and other hand tools and equipment used in the process of production tree work. Follow equipment maintenance routine and checklist for assigned equipment daily. Checklists should be turned in weekly. Ensure all required gear for being a production arborist is stored safely on your assigned truck. Pre-trip trucks daily, report any issues or concerns to the shop. Turn in pre-trip sheets weekly. Maintain a clean and sightly truck; trash cleaned out daily, remove tree debris from cage and bed of truck, Keep truck washed and interior cleaned monthly. Requirements include but are not limited to the following; Must have in-depth knowledge in bucket truck and lift operations. Must have a strong understanding and ability to utilize rigging techniques specific to tree removal and trimming operations. Must have a minimum of a class B commercial driver's license with airbrakes endorsement. Working to obtain ISA Certified Tree Worker Aerial Lift Specialist and/or ISA Certified Tree Climber (must obtain and then maintain one of these certificates) Excellent communication skills. Climbing Skills Can-do Attitude Work well in a team based environment. Self-starter. Detail oriented Follow company set safety standards. Maintain daily maintenance logs for equipment. Must have physical abilities specific to job including, but not limited to; Ability to lift one's own body weight into a tree, ability to comfortably handle 25 pounds continuously in a 10 hour work day, strong balance, comfortable reaching to full length of physical ability consistently. Maintain a positive, can-do, detail oriented attitude in a very demanding and distracting environment.
