Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Bring your passion and expertise to a dynamic elementary special education setting for the 2026-2027 school year! This contract opportunity calls for dedicated Special Education Teachers eager to create a positive impact working onsite with students who have Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD), or Emotional Behavioral Disorders (EBD). Enjoy teaching in well-supported environments mapped conveniently to either Lino Lakes or Columbus area elementary schools. You'll collaborate with fellow professionals and provide individualized instruction, fostering growth and independence for every student.
Qualifications:
Active Minnesota Special Education Teaching Certification is required (please provide certification and updated resume when applying) Experience with elementary-aged students with ASD, DCD, or EBD preferred Strong understanding of IEP development, documentation, and implementation Adept at behavior management and differentiated instruction Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for collaborating with staff and families
Responsibilities:
Provide specialized instruction for a designated caseload, tailoring lessons and supports to student needs Develop and implement IEPs in compliance with state and federal guidelines Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers to ensure student success Collect data and monitor student progress, making timely adjustments as needed Communicate regularly with parents and guardians on student progress and strategies Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development as required Why consider this role?
