Production Control Clerk

The Production Control Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting efficient manufacturing operations by ensuring accurate production reporting, timely processing of shop orders, and coordination across multiple functional teams. This position supports production flow, inventory activities, and scheduling needs in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. Working closely with Production Control, Engineering, Accounting, Purchasing, and Manufacturing, this role contributes directly to cost control, operational efficiency, and on‑time delivery performance.

Responsibilities:

Enter and maintain accurate daily production reporting across manufacturing systems. Process shop orders, shop packets, and associated documentation to support manufacturing operations. Print and distribute drawings and production materials as required for manufacturing dispatch. Support MRP activities by processing requirements and entering shop orders as needed. Schedule and maintain kanban orders to ensure uninterrupted material flow. Order and track inter‑company parts as required to support production schedules. Provide operational support for inventory activities, including coordination and reporting. Serve as backup support for Production Control, Shipping, and Receiving functions as needed. Coordinate with Area Managers on scheduling and production reporting issues. Collaborate with Engineering, Sales & Marketing, Accounting, Purchasing, and manufacturing personnel to resolve production‑related issues. Participate in special projects and cost‑savings initiatives as assigned by department leadership. Meet annual performance objectives as defined by department and organizational goals. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Reporting Relationship:

This position reports to the Production Control Manager.

Required Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent required. Three to five years of experience in a high‑volume manufacturing environment. Working knowledge of manufacturing processes and production reporting systems. Basic to intermediate computer skills with ability to learn enterprise manufacturing systems. Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with MRP or ERP systems in a manufacturing environment. Familiarity with inventory control, scheduling, and production workflows. Ability to work collaboratively across departments in a fast‑paced setting. Self‑motivated with a strong focus on accuracy and follow‑through.

Travel Requirements:

Limited travel may be required based on business needs.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to move throughout a manufacturing facility to perform essential duties. Ability to work in a production‑oriented environment.
