Job Description

Nesco Resource is looking for a Production Control Shipping Desk Associate located in Danbury, CT. This is a temp to perm opportunity for the right candidate.
Shift:
Monday-Friday 8:30AM-5
PM Pay:
$24-$26/hour depending on experience
Position Overview :
We are seeking a detail-oriented Production Control / Shipping Desk Associate to support daily outbound logistics operations. This role is responsible for coordinating shipments, managing documentation, and ensuring on-time, accurate delivery performance. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and can effectively communicate across multiple teams while resolving shipping and transportation issues. Key Responsibilities Coordinate daily outbound shipping activities including carrier scheduling, pickups, and transportation communication Manage shipment exceptions, reships, billing discrepancies, and delivery issues to maintain on-time performance Prioritize urgent requests, escalations, and recovery actions to meet customer deadlines Ensure accuracy of shipping documentation including BOLs, labels, tracking details, and export paperwork Prepare and submit Advance Shipping Notifications (ASNs) in a timely manner Act as the main point of contact between Customer Service, Logistics, Transportation teams, and external carriers Support both domestic and international shipping operations across multiple facilities Monitor and improve shipping processes by identifying inefficiencies and supporting continuous improvement efforts Track and report key performance metrics such as on-time delivery, carrier performance, and shipment exceptions Provide support for shipping systems (SAP EWM preferred), including troubleshooting and user assistance Qualifications Associate's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field preferred 3+ years of experience in logistics, warehouse, manufacturing, or shipping operations Strong understanding of outbound shipping processes and transportation coordination Experience handling shipment issues, delivery coordination, or carrier communication preferred Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP EWM is a plus) Strong communication skills with the ability to manage cross-functional interactions Detail-oriented with solid problem-solving and analytical abilities Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment Customer-focused mindset with a sense of urgency and accountability Nesco Resource offers a comprehensive benefits package for our associates, which includes a MEC (Minimum Essential Coverage) plan that encompasses Medical, Vision, Dental, 401K, and EAP (Employee Assistance Program) services.
