Job Description

Hiring a Production Controller in Trinity, AL! Job Description The Production Controller plans, coordinates, and manages the flow of internal and external production processes to ensure timely delivery of products and adherence to quality standards. This role acts as a key interface between Program Management, Engineering, Procurement, and Manufacturing, aligning production schedules with project milestones and customer requirements. The Production Controller supports end-to-end production activities, from work order creation to final completion, while driving continuous improvement and maintaining strong compliance and documentation practices. Responsibilities Develop and maintain detailed production plans, work orders, and demand plans within SAP for assigned projects. Create and manage Material Masters, Bills of Material (BOMs), and Routings in SAP to support accurate and efficient production planning. Monitor and adjust production schedules to accommodate changes in demand, engineering updates, and resource availability. Plan, prioritize, and implement the flow of internal and external production processes through the creation and issuance of shop travelers. Coordinate workflow prioritization with Integrated Product Team (IPT) leads and IPT Planners to meet critical deadlines and program milestones. Control factory implementation and cut-in of engineering and process changes, ensuring minimal disruption to production activities. Act as a liaison between Procurement, Production, Engineering, Planning, and other stakeholders to resolve daily operational issues. Support Integrated Product Teams by providing accurate production status updates, identifying risks, and contributing to mitigation strategies. Participate in program reviews and contribute to schedule risk assessments and recovery plans. Prepare and maintain Standard Assembly Procedures manuals and ensure alignment with established quality standards. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize production flow, reduce lead times, and improve overall efficiency. Maintain accurate documentation and ensure audit readiness for internal and external compliance requirements, including ITAR/EAR-related processes. Support special projects, cost reduction initiatives, and process improvement activities as assigned. Manage work orders and track production starts and finishes to ensure on-time completion. Oversee the build of production schedules and manage nonconformance (NC) items to minimize impact on delivery. Manage start-to-finish production for assigned products, including complex assemblies such as heat shields. Coordinate subcontractor builds and ensure alignment with internal schedules and quality expectations. Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Production, Buyers, Warehouse, and other internal teams to support smooth production operations. Apply strategic thinking to align production plans with overall program objectives and customer requirements. Demonstrate leadership in cross-functional and IPT environments, fostering collaboration and accountability. Promote a continuous improvement mindset with a strong focus on efficiency, quality, and process optimization.
Qualifications:
2-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment Experience working with an ERP system Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings Strong Microsoft Excel skills (including conditional formatting, VLOOKUPs, and pivot tables) Experience with Microsoft Project is a strong plus Work Environment This role is fully onsite at a manufacturing facility in Trinity, AL. The Production Controller works closely with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Production, Procurement/Buyers, Warehouse, and Integrated Product Teams to support day-to-day operations. The environment is fast-paced and production-driven, with a strong focus on meeting program milestones and customer delivery dates. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Trinity, AL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $37.00 - $45.00/hr.
