! 2nd Shift Machine Operator Ferndale, WA Our quality products have a heritage dating back to the early 1800's at the Hempler's family sausage kitchen in Borken, Germany. Hans Hempler worked in the family sausage business in Germany as a youngster. He served as an apprentice sausage maker and learned first-hand the family's old secret recipes becoming a master sausage maker before moving to the United States. Hans came to the United States in 1928 and, in those early years, worked hard and saved his money. SUMMARY OF POSITION
Hempler Foods Group is seeking a Machine Operator for our growing facility. The Machine Operator plays a vital role in ensuring efficient, safe, and high-quality production of various meat products. This role involves operating, monitoring, and maintaining equipment used in processing, packaging, and related tasks. The Machine Operator is responsible for achieving production targets while adhering to food safety standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future visa sponsorship.

2nd Shift (2:00pm
  • 11:30pm) Times may vary based on company's needs.
WAGE:
$19.00
  • $21.00 per hour, subject to all required taxes and withholdings. Starting wage will be $19.00
  • $21.
00 per hour + an additional $1.00 per hour for shift differential, and a 6-month performance review that may provide an additional pay increase of $1.00 per hour. What You'll Do As a Machine Operator, you'll play a key role in producing high‑quality products our customers love. You'll support the preparation, processing, packaging, and inspection of food products while helping meet daily production goals.
Daily responsibilities include:
  • Assemble and disassemble, operate, trouble shoot, and adjust machinery used in the processing and packaging of products.
  • Monitor machine performance to ensure products meet quality specifications and production targets.
  • Detect and address defects or irregularities in products or processes
  • Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and make minor repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Report major malfunctions or maintenance needs to the maintenance team promptly.
  • Ensure that all food safety and sanitation regulations (e.g., USDA, FDA, HACCP) are followed
  • Record production data, including machine output, downtime, and material usage.
  • Maintain accurate logs of maintenance activities and quality checks.
  • Communicate effectively with other team members and supervisors regarding production updates.
  • Work closely with line leads, quality assurance staff, and other production workers to ensure smooth operations.
  • The operator is required to participate in cross-training and demonstrate competency in various positions on the production line, providing operational support as needed to ensure efficiency.
  • Assist in other production areas as needed to meet operational demands.

Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, work instructions, and production schedules. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Willing to work in a various-temperature environment
  • Ability to handle heavy objects safely and with proper body mechanics. Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and routinely maneuver objects weighing up to 100 lbs.

  • Ability to frequently reach with hands and arms; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls
