About IPSD:

Caterpillar's Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs, tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L engines that not only power Caterpillar machines, but also power over 5000 other applications including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators, and Locomotives. Role Definition:

As the Power Generation Production Manager , you will lead and manage a high-complexity production and operations area focused on power generation systems and engine applications. You will be responsible for driving operational excellence, ensuring safety, quality, and delivery performance, while advancing continuous improvement and supporting Caterpillar's sustainability goals. This role requires strategic leadership to optimize processes, develop talent, and align production capabilities with evolving customer and business needs in the power generation space.

What You Will Do:

Oversee daily production and assembly operations for power generation products, ensuring alignment with production targets, quality standards, and delivery commitments. Champion a strong safety culture and enforce adherence to all safety, environmental, and quality standards, ensuring compliance across all processes and continuous risk reduction. Monitor key performance metrics (efficiency, throughput, downtime, scrap, etc.), analyze trends, and implement data-driven improvements to enhance productivity and reduce costs. Develop and manage production schedules, resource plans, and capacity alignment to meet customer demand and business objectives. Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for operational challenges; drive Lean/continuous improvement initiatives to eliminate waste and improve process capability. Lead, mentor, and develop supervisors and team members; manage performance, support career growth, and build a highly engaged, accountable workforce. Partner with engineering, supply chain, quality, and other functions to resolve issues, implement product/process changes, and support new product introductions. Utilize production data, reporting tools, and analytics to make informed decisions, communicate performance, and identify improvement opportunities. Prepare and deliver clear reports on production performance, safety, quality, and key initiatives to senior leadership; ensure effective communication across all levels. Support initiatives aligned with Caterpillar's sustainability strategy, including energy efficiency, emissions reduction, and advancement of green power solutions.

What You Will Have:

Data Gathering & Analysis:

Knowledge of data gathering and analysis tools, techniques, and processes; ability to collect and synthesize data from a variety of stakeholders and sources in an objective manner to reach a conclusion, goal, or judgment.

Performance Management:

Knowledge of successful performance management techniques; ability to apply organization's performance management system, practices, and tools to developing and improving individual, team, and organizational performance.

Decision Making and Critical Thinking:

Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.

Effective Communications:

Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
