Production Manager:
The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations across multiple fabrication departments to ensure safety, quality, productivity, and cost goals are achieved. This role will lead production teams, coordinate workflow, support continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure customer expectations and production schedules are consistently met. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with strong fabrication and manufacturing experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment and leads by example. Position Responsibilities of the
Production Manager:
  • Manage and supervise employees across multiple fabrication departments including welding, laser, press brake, shipping, and tooling operations
  • Lead and enforce company safety policies and procedures
  • Coordinate and execute production schedules to meet customer demands and operational goals
  • Organize workflow and assign labor based on team skillsets, equipment availability, and production priorities
  • Monitor productivity, labor utilization, overtime, and operational costs
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, training, and performance management to production team members
  • Support hiring efforts and participate in interviewing new candidates
  • Identify equipment or machinery issues and coordinate repairs with maintenance teams
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, and other departments to improve efficiency and reduce costs
  • Conduct employee performance reviews and support employee development initiatives
  • Ensure all team members are properly trained in safety, quality, and operational procedures
  • Review and correct timekeeping transactions and support employee accountability
  • Promote lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Lead production meetings and shift handoffs to maintain communication and operational continuity
  • Monitor schedules and production reports to react quickly to changing priorities
  • Support a "whatever-it-takes" culture to maintain production flow and minimize downtime Position Requirements of the
Production Manager:
  • 8+ years of supervisory experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling, equipment, and manufacturing operations
  • Experience leading teams in welding, laser, press brake, or sheet metal fabrication environments preferred
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement practices
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with manufacturing software systems and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment
  • Associate degree in Management, Business, Technical Studies, or related field preferred
  • Ability to work on the production floor and support hands-on operations as needed
