Description Production Mechanic - Plastics [Night Shift] Reports to:

None Basic Function:
Responsible for ensuring proper and on time set up and operation of production equipment in assigned department. Also responsible for compliance with safety, G.M.P. procedures, 5S, CI requirements, technical standards, routine maintenance and training of lower classified mechanics.Responsibilities:
Set-up, operates, and adjusts to process parameters to control production conditions, in order to produce a quality Plastic product within established specifications and procedures. Records process data, quality data, and supplier information accurately on forms or by automated data. Performs set-ups and changeovers on equipment for size changes using established standards and procedures. With limited supervision, perform tests, troubleshoot the equipment to determine source of mechanical problems and performs necessary repairs. Start and stop equipment, safely clear jams and keep line running for maximum output and acceptable quality. Disassembles repairs and/or replaces worn and damaged parts. Utilize knowledge of solid state circuitry to trouble shoot timed cycle sequences. Operate extruder, printer, coater, and header capper as adjust as required. Performs overhaul of equipment disassembly, inspection, replacement or repair of worn or damaged parts and reassembly, timing, synchronizing and aligning the mechanical capabilities in order to obtain optimum performance and efficiency. Comply with the plant's Continuous Improvement Program which will consist of 5S, SMED events, 5Y, and other Lean to Win activities. Comply with EHS requirements of the plant which is a condition of employment. He or she must know and follow G.M.P. regulations concerning housekeeping, record keeping, cleaning and sanitation procedures, of all production or processing equipment involved in daily production lines. Assist in the training of employees of a lower classification for the purpose of increasing their skills. Also assigns and oversees the work of these employees as directed by immediate supervisor. This description covers the most significant duties performed, but does not exclude other occasional work that may be required in conformity with the job grade. High School diploma or GED required or relevant proven experience. Knowledge of machinery and assembly line functions and operation of same. Capable of reading, interpreting and comprehending technical training manuals, blue prints and specifications. Display excellent mechanical ability. Capable of instructing mechanics and specialists in subordinate hourly positions.Compensation & Benefits:
$23.92 - $34.31 per hour Quarterly Performance Plus Bonus eligibility with up to a 4% payout based on company performance. 5% Night Shift Differential for employees working night shift. Advancement and compensation review opportunities after 12 months. 12 paid holidays annually.
