Production Operator

Production Operator Job Description The Production Operator plays a key role in safely manufacturing, packaging, and handling fire retardant and foam products. In this position, you operate salt and blending panels, prepare batches, package and label finished goods, and support shipping and receiving activities. You help maintain accurate production records, collect quality control samples, and ensure all work meets regulatory and safety requirements. You work closely with a team of operators in a large manufacturing environment and contribute to a clean, safe, and efficient operation. Responsibilities Operate salt and blending panels to support daily production activities. Prepare batches for production according to established procedures and specifications. Package, label, and weigh Phos-Chek® products accurately and efficiently. Complete production records and maintain accurate records of lot numbers shipped. Collect, label, and mark representative quality control samples for testing. Collaborate with a team of operators in the production of Phos-Chek® retardant and foams. Assist in shipping and receiving finished goods and raw materials as needed. Ensure a clean, safe, and healthy work environment for all production employees. Handle materials, warehousing, and shipping of fire retardant and suppressant products. Maintain physical control and proper segregation of non-conforming raw materials and finished goods. Help maintain and update production records to support traceability and compliance. Follow and support compliance with D.O.T., industrial hygiene, OSHA, and other applicable regulations. Essential Skills Experience in general production or manufacturing environments. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis. Willingness to learn different functions within production and warehouse operations. Strong safety orientation and consistent adherence to safety procedures. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, as required. Capability to work effectively as part of a production team in a fast-paced setting. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with packaging and packing operations. Experience with palletizing finished goods and materials. Experience with machine operation and machine operating in a production setting. Forklift operation experience. Comfort using hand tools and performing general labor tasks. Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in a large manufacturing environment where fire retardant products are produced. The production floor can be hot, loud, and dusty, and the process generates particles and dust in the air. The coloring in the retardant can stain clothing, so dark-colored pants and shirts are required. Steel toe shoes are mandatory. Personal protective equipment is provided, including a hard hat, safety glasses, and ear protection. You work on-site around active production equipment, packaging lines, and material handling operations, following strict safety and industrial hygiene standards. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mcclellan, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
