Production Shift Supervisor

  • 01024302 Description Weyerhaeuser is seeking a Production Supervisor
  • Planer Mill/Shipping for the Zwolle Engineered Wood Products manufacturing facility located in Zwolle, LA. The Production Supervisor
  • Planer Mill/Shipping is responsible for direct supervision of a team of hourly employees.
This includes the safety, production, and quality goals of our Planer Mill. The Production Supervisor is committed to continuous improvement in safety, cost management, process improvement, plant scheduling, production flows, staffing and housekeeping. This role reports directly to the Operations Manager. Key Functions Provide daily leadership, direction, and oversight of both Shipping and hourly production employees to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations. Promote a strong safety culture by ensuring all safety policies, procedures, and job rules are followed, proactively identifying hazards, and taking corrective action to protect associates and contractors. Lead safety and team meetings, reinforcing expectations and driving accountability. Plan, coordinate, and balance labor resources to meet operational demands while supporting continuous improvement in safety, quality, and production performance. Set and communicate clear performance expectations aligned with mill goals; actively monitor, evaluate, and provide feedback on employee performance. Coach, support, and develop employees through ongoing feedback, training, and engagement to drive performance and build a high-performing team. Foster a positive work environment by modeling Core Values (Safety, Integrity, Citizenship, Sustainability, Inclusion) and People Principles (Appreciate, Respect, Listen, Communicate, Value). Build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships with Sales, Transportation, Maintenance, and customers to ensure smooth coordination and communication. Collaborate with Maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime impacting shipping and production operations. Monitor, analyze, and maintain accurate shipping and production reports to support operational efficiency, product quality, and inventory control. Proactively address employee relations concerns, encourage teamwork, and ensure consistent and fair application of policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with all company policies and applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Qualifications High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Minimum 1-3 years' supervisory experience in an industrial environment Experience in a Wood Products manufacturing plant Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAP, & other software programs Leadership skills that include a proven ability to coach employees to a higher level of performance Strong people skills with a result-oriented focus Good planning, organizational skills, and problem-solving capabilities Experience in routine manufacturing concepts such as housekeeping, ergonomics and labor efficiency Flexible work hours are necessary to meet the needs of a 24/7 manufacturing environment Must be willing to work any required shift and on weekends as needed Effective problem-solving techniques and ability to make process improvement recommendations Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal and electronic communication skills Committed to professional ethical standards Demonstrated ability to raise performance by building and maintaining positive relationships with all associates through coaching, development and instilling a continuous improvement mind-set Ability to handle large volume of work, manage multiple priorities simultaneously, work under pressure and meet deadlines

Compensation :
This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $69,300 to $104,000 based on your level of skills, qualifications, and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 5% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.

Retirement:

Paid Time Off or Vacation:
We provide eligible employees who are scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week with 3-weeks of paid vacation to use during your first year of employment. In addition, after being employed for six months, eligible employees begin to accrue vacation for future use. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year, providing a total of 88 holiday hours.
