POSITION SUMMARY
The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and directing the activities of employees involved in manufacturing operations. Key responsibilities include training and supervising staff, fostering a positive work environment, ensuring adherence to safety standards, and enforcing company policies and procedures. This role also involves monitoring departmental performance, reporting on key metrics, and working to achieve production goals as established by the management team. The supervisor plays a critical role in maintaining operational efficiency and driving continuous improvement.

N/A IDEAL EXPERIENCE
2-4 years of experience in a manufacturing operation or supervisory role. Strong proficiency in computer applications, including ERP systems (Epicor/Vantage experience is a plus) and Microsoft Office. Proven ability to collaborate effectively with team members across various departments. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey critical information for operational success. Adaptability to sudden operational changes and challenges. Experience working in a capacity-constrained manufacturing environment. Previous experience in a unionized workplace is preferred.

Productivity Maintain a clear understanding of labor utilization and operational efficiency, including underlying drivers and impacts: use data-driven insights to guide team supervision and achieve production targets. Plan deviations Lead real-time responses to product plan variances by assessing operational issues, coordinating resources, and implementing solutions to maintain schedule adherence and productivity goals. Proactively identify and respond to deviations from production schedules and operating standards; lead problem-solving efforts and implement corrective and preventative actions (CAPA).
RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership Model ethical and professional behavior as specified in the company Code of Conduct. Set clear expectations for employees that are aligned with Management's business goals. Maintain a high degree of visibility and access to employees throughout the workday. Hold yourself and employees accountable. Production Execute production plans, resolve any circumstances that may affect the plan, and report any plan deviations to the planning department. Maintain orderliness and cleanliness of equipment and facilities; take corrective action to resolve deficiencies. Support cost reduction, Lean Programs (ex. 5S, Kaizen, SMED) and continuous improvement efforts. Evaluate employee timecards for accuracy and approve for payroll on a weekly basis. Maintain operational knowledge of manufacturing equipment. Resolve production-related issues with representatives from other departments throughout the company. Perform required administrative tasks; prepare required reports and correspondence, including assigned KPI reporting and development of manufacturing work instructions. As a member of the Safety Committee, participate in safety programs and all required safety training for employees and coordinate tracking with HR. Talent Development Responsible for providing feedback to employees on performance through informal (day-to-day interaction) and formal methods (yearly written appraisal, documented disciplinary action). Provide and document training of employees as specified by the company training system. Use various coaching methods to support employee development and foster a culture of accountability, growth, and continuous improvement. Identify deficiencies in attaining department goals and provide explain corrective actions for gaps. Under supervision of the Operations Manager, assist with development and implementation of policies and procedures for personnel issues including but not limited to rewards, disciplinary action, daily and weekly overtime, hiring and training. Perform other duties assigned by manager.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent 2-4 years of manufacturing/supervisory experience Knowledge of Microsoft applications Conflict resolution skills Previous experience in a union shop a plus Intermediate math skills Knowledge of metal and/or tube drawing, and firearm products a plus
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
READING SKILLS
Ability to read, write and comprehend materials in English.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply 'common sense' understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
