Impact of the Role General Profile Requires advanced skills and expertise in a variety of work processes or activities Generates new and innovative solutions to complex problems Acts as a team lead, coordinating the work of others Anticipates patterns and links; looks beyond the immediate problem to the wider implications Performs manual tasks according to established procedures Essential Functions Operates, tests, and monitors assigned equipment according to established guidelines for an organization. Observes and conducts operation of equipment and documents maintenance needs. Troubleshoots control panels, error lights, and messages to ensure proper equipment function. May communicate with equipment technicians relating to highly complex issues. Verifies equipment data for reporting. Supports and assists with the installation of operating equipment. Controls and adjusts machine settings to complete more complex tasks. May assist with training other machine operators. May calculate and assist with numeric controlled programming. Required Qualifications Required education and experience: High School Diploma/GED required and 7-8 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience Preferred Qualifications Preferred education and experience: Vocational/Technical Training Degree Knowledge, skills & abilities: Written communication skills. Ability to gather and document information. Ability to lift/move heavy objects. Mechanical knowledge. Safety knowledge. Physical Requirements Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities. Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds. May need to stand for long periods of time. Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery. May be requested to work a different shift. Must be willing to work outside normal business hours as required. This position is Safety-Sensitive.

Travel Requirements:

Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities. Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds. May need to stand for long periods of time. Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery. May be requested to work a different shift.
