Production Worker Job Description This role focuses on material handling within the shipping and receiving department, supporting warehouse operations through picking, packing, inventory control, and general production tasks. You will work with computer systems and RF scanners, handle materials and finished goods, and contribute to efficient and accurate order fulfillment. The position requires attention to detail, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Responsibilities Perform material handling duties in the shipping and receiving department, including moving, staging, and organizing products and materials. Pick and pack orders accurately according to work orders and shipping documentation. Support inventory control activities by counting, tracking, and verifying stock levels. Use warehouse equipment as needed to pick inventory and move materials safely and efficiently. Label boxes and containers clearly and accurately to ensure proper identification and traceability. Kit parts and components according to instructions to prepare products for assembly or shipment. Operate computers and RF scanners to record transactions, locate inventory, and update system information. Lift and move materials and boxes weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis while following safe lifting practices. Follow production and assembly line procedures when assigned to support manufacturing operations. Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety and housekeeping standards. Participate in cross-training across different departments to support various production and warehouse tasks. Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to report issues, clarify instructions, and support workflow. Attend and participate in interviews and evaluations with supervisors as part of the selection and onboarding process. Essential Skills Experience with production or assembly work in a warehouse or manufacturing environment. Hands-on material handling experience, including picking, packaging, and moving products. Knowledge of warehouse picking processes and inventory control practices. Ability to operate RF scanners and use computers comfortably for basic data entry and inventory tasks. Capability to lift up to 50 pounds safely and perform physical tasks throughout the shift. Familiarity with general labor tasks such as sorting, organizing, and basic equipment handling. Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate labeling, kitting, picking, and inventory tracking. Good soft skills, including clear communication, reliability, and teamwork. Demonstrated willingness to learn new tasks and cross-train in different departments. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with forklift operation in a warehouse setting. Experience in assembly line work or production environments. Comfort using basic hand tools for assembly or kitting tasks. Prior experience in inventory control or stockroom operations. Work Environment The position is based in a climate-controlled, very clean warehouse and production facility. You will work primarily in the shipping and receiving area as well as other departments when cross-trained. The standard schedule runs Monday through Thursday from 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM, offering a consistent four-day workweek. The role involves standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, and performing repetitive tasks such as picking, packing, labeling, and kitting. You will use RF scanners, computers, basic hand tools, and standard material handling equipment, and you may operate warehouse vehicles such as forklifts if qualified. The facility emphasizes organization, safety, and cleanliness, creating a professional and efficient work environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mount Juliet, TN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr.
