POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Program Specialist supports New Futures, the Education Center, Case Management, Family Resource Center and Parent Child Plus programming through data collection and analysis to support family and student outcomes, and development of internal systems to improve communication and shared successes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Program Development and Administration Support staff, programming, and communication through data collection and entry Provide data analysis for reporting and grant writing Support Program Director with Prepare grant reports, stakeholder presentations, and both internal/external data sharing. Establish and follow schedules and processes for regular collection and exchange of data and information regarding programs families and students. Ensure that data and evaluation outcomes are regularly shared with stakeholders and accessible to diverse audiences. Ensure that the programs meet goals and are aligned with Southwest Youth and Family Services' mission and philosophy. Leadership and Partnership Development Establish positive relationships with relevant Highline and Seattle Public Schools staff at district office and schools (counselors, teachers, principals, community liaisons, data and evaluation staff, etc.) and communicate regularly about participants' strengths and needs. Participate in Southwest Youth and Family Services meetings and organizational initiatives. Effectively communicate (written and orally) with staff and community partners. Support all site activities and events through participation and attendance (evening availability required). Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education BA Degree in Education, Social Work or related field, or equivalent training and experience. May accept associate degree with 2 years' experience in data management experience Two years of successful experience working within diverse communities and/or school systems Experience in data collection, analysis, and program evaluation practices Other Requirements Commitment to the Vision, Values and Mission of the organization. Demonstrated commitment to working with diverse communities in a culturally relevant way. Experience working in a multicultural setting, with proven ability to communicate effectively with people of diverse economic, educational and cultural backgrounds, including children, students, parents and other community members. Proven effective organizational skills, written and verbal communication, record keeping and report writing skills. Knowledge of educational systems and resources; and direct service providers and community resources in the Seattle area. Fluent in Spanish, Somali, or Amharic preferred. Valid Washington driver's license and proof of auto insurance; access to reliable transportation required. Permit and pass a criminal and professional background check.
