The Frost Institute for Data Science and Computing (IDSC) seeks a Programmer to assist in the creation and modification of virtual experiences for the Future Realities Research Lab (FRL). This is a temporary position for twelve (12) months.

CORE JOB SUMMARY

The Programmer 1 analyzes, designs, writes, tests, and implements new programs and applications. Moreover, the incumbent maintains and revises existing systems and provides technical assistance to end-users and others within Information Technology.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

Assist in the creation and modification of virtual experiences. Create or integrate 3D models for items requested for the experiences. Meet frequently with FRL contacts to gather feedback, outline tasks, and ultimately implement their vision for the experiences. Maintain documentation with processes related to creating the experiences.

Department Specific Qualifications Education:

Bachelor's Degree in relevant field

Experience:

One (1) year experience working in virtual reality development. Experience uploading custom content to the STEAM platform and with VR and VR interaction/movement metaphors. Any appropriate combination of relevant education and/or experience may be considered.

Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:

Demonstrated familiarity with the Unity game engine. Demonstrated familiarity with the STEAM and other VR platforms. Interpersonal skills.
