Job Description
Position DescriptionA full-service architectural firm is seeking a Licensed Project Architect to lead the production of construction drawings and specifications, with additional responsibilities across design and construction administration. This role includes mentoring and supervising project team members while managing schedules, resources, and budgets to deliver projects on time and within scope.
The position is fast-paced and collaborative, requiring regular interaction with clients, code officials, and external consultants. Occasional travel is required for site visits and construction administration. The Project Architect will contribute to QA/QC efforts, stamp drawings, and report to a Senior Project Manager.
Key ResponsibilitiesCollaborate directly with clients to understand goals and develop compliant design solutionsPlan and manage project budgets, schedules, and milestonesProduce and coordinate schematic design, design development, and construction documentsLead coordination with engineering consultants and third-party vendorsPrepare and edit architectural specificationsLead project meetings and manage documentationEnsure compliance with building, life safety, health, and accessibility codesManage RFIs, ASIs, addenda, change orders, and construction administration activitiesReview and negotiate pay applications and change ordersSupervise and mentor junior staff throughout the project lifecycleKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesStrong understanding of design regulations, codes, and accessibility requirementsProven leadership, planning, and organizational skillsExcellent written and verbal communication abilitiesAbility to manage multiple projects and shifting prioritiesComfortable working independently or as part of a teamAbility to perform site observations and construction-related field workRequirements7+ years of professional experienceLicensed architect with NCARB certificationClient management experienceProficiency with Microsoft OfficeAdvanced Revit experienceMulti-state project experience preferred
