This role sits at the center of the job. You'll work with Project Managers, Scheduling, and the field to make sure cost, progress, and reporting are accurate and actually useful. What You'll Be Doing Build the foundation Set up project controls systems aligned with the project baseline Develop budgets and detailed Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) Build and maintain the project controls database using internal systems (NGCS) Track cost and progress Assign and manage activity and charge codes Track project cost, earned progress, and productivity Maintain accurate progress curves and forecasting data Support scheduling and planning Build and maintain CPM schedules tied to scope and execution Coordinate with scheduling and PM teams to keep data aligned Support updates tied to field progress and reporting cycles Own reporting and forecasting Produce weekly and monthly cost and progress reports Track trends, risks, and forecast issues before they become problems Maintain historical data for project performance and analysis Manage change and documentation Support change management process for change orders and extra work Generate and track change order documentation Maintain clean and accurate project records Support the field and PM team Provide technical support to field teams on tracking and reporting Assist PMs with cost-to-complete and cash flow tracking Help ensure the project maintains positive financial performance What We're Looking For 2-6 years of experience in project controls, cost engineering, or project coordination Strong understanding of WBS, cost tracking, and project reporting Experience working with CPM schedules (Primavera P6 exposure is a plus) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Detail-oriented and organized, this role requires accuracy Good communication skills across field and office teams Comfortable working onsite in a fast-paced project environment Nice to Have Experience with industrial, electrical, or infrastructure projects Exposure to cost systems, reporting tools, or data platforms (Power BI, etc.) Experience working with integrated project controls systems Why This Role Matters This is the role that keeps the numbers real.
