Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed cost estimates by analyzing plans and specifications and performing take-offs for labor, equipment, and material costs. Conduct pre-bid and post-bid reviews, budgeting, and contract management. Manage and track RFI (Request for Information) during the bidding process. Utilize construction management software such as Bluebeam, Viewpoint, and ISQFT bid management software to maximize efficiency and accuracy. Negotiate contracts with subcontractors to reach profitable agreements. Attend site visits and pre-bid meetings to understand the scope of work and determine pricing. Coordinate with project management teams to follow-up on bids and budgets until project close-out. Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of the status of all ongoing projects, from the initial estimation stage to completion. Collaborate with architects, engineers, clients, and contractors on estimates.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field. 5+ years of experience as an Estimator in the commercial construction industry. Demonstrated experience in projects involving hospitals, retail, government, and restoration. Proficient in construction software such as Bluebeam, Viewpoint, and ISQFT bid management software. Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines. Strong mathematical and IT skills. In-depth knowledge of research and data analysis methods and estimation formulas. Exceptional communication and negotiation skills. Detail-oriented with a strategic approach to problem-solving. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting. Familiarity with financial and project management principles. Proven track record of preparing accurate estimates and managing budgets effectively. Valid driver's license and ability to travel to different job sites within a designated geographical area.
