Cadillac, MI Position Summary:
The Finisher supports the engineering team in the development, testing, and refinement of prototype boats and components. This role is responsible for assisting with mock-ups, pre-production builds, primarily fiberglass repair, and evaluating design feasibility. The position requires hands-on work with materials, tools, and prototype systems, along with accurate documentation and collaboration across departments.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in mock-up design and prototype builds to determine production feasibility Support pre-production boat assembly and introduction of new models into manufacturing Perform fiberglass repairs and detailing on prototype components Build, cut, grind, and modify prototype parts and materials Review product specifications, blueprints, and design drawings Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of testing results and processes Research new materials, waxes, buffers, sprayer, etc… Communicate effectively with engineering and production teams Support a clean, safe, and efficient work environment Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings Experience with boat production processes, including: Assembly, cutting, and grinding Cabinet assembly Marine propulsion installation Marine electrical and plumbing systems Experience with fiberglass repair (minimum 2 years preferred) Familiarity with hand and power tools; woodworking experience a plus Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines Self-motivated, creative, and able to work both independently and in a team environment Good written and verbal communication skills Willingness to work overtime with little notice Ability to perform the physical essential functions of the job such as lifting up to 50lbs, bending, stooping , standing, kneeling, etc… Work Environment Exposure to production materials and hazardous chemicals may occur
Pay:
$18.00 - $21.00 per hour
