JOB DESCRIPTION

:

PURPOSE AND SCOPE

To provide psychiatric services to those receiving Serenity BHS services.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

a. Perform mental health evaluations/psychiatric treatment for adults and children in the outpatient clinics and patients in the Crisis Stabilization Unit according to guidelines.

This includes the following:

Mental Status Examinations. Formulation of diagnoses based on the DSM 5 criteria Prescribing pharmacological treatment based on the standards of medical practice Ordering other SBHS services, including referring for appropriate psychotherapy, ordering and interpreting routine laboratory findings, and completing emergency involuntary commitment if deemed necessary. b. Evaluate the individual served for the need for admission to the Crisis Stabilization Unit and/or East Central Regional Hospital. c. Refer those receiving services to other community resources for general medical and specialty care and collaborate with case workers and nursing staff in referring patients for other socioeconomic needs. d. Be available for immediate consultation in person, via telephone, by email, or other electronic means during business hours or when on-call to physician extenders, nursing staff, and other employees who are in direct and indirect care of the people we serve at SBHS. e. Participate in quarterly Peer Reviews and maintain standard in reviews that are acceptable to other colleagues. f. Respond to medical codes and conduct them according to the standards of medical care and within expertise. g. Participate in Treatment team, quarterly Medical Staff Committee, and P&T meetings; provide input, education, and training for staff. •

$110,000.00 - $115,000.00 per hour
