Full Job Description Job Goals:
1.The School Psychologist is responsible for conducting psycho-educational assessments of students as well as working therapeutically with students individually or in groups. 2.Responsibilities also include participation in pre-referral and special education referral procedures. 3.The School Psychologist is also an agent of the School Department and is expected to represent the district in a professional and ethical mannerCurriculum, Planning & Assessment1.Has strong knowledge specific to subject matter and/or professional responsibility, has a good grasp of child development and how students learn, and designs effective and rigorous plans for support consisting of well-structured lessons with measurable outcomes2.Uses a variety of informal and formal methods of assessment to measure student learning, growth, and understanding to develop differentiated and enhanced learning experiences and improve future instruction3.Analyzes data from assessments, draws conclusions, and shares them appropriatelyTeaching All Students4.Uses instructional and clinical practices that reflect high expectations regarding content and quality of effort and work, engage all students, and are personalized to accommodate diverse learning styles, needs, interests, and levels of readiness5.Creates and maintains a safe and collaborative learning environment that motivates students to take academic risks, challenge themselves, and claim ownership of their learning6.Actively creates and maintains an environment in which students diverse backgrounds, identities, strengths, and challenges are respected7.Plans and implements lessons and/or supports that set clear and high expectations and also make knowledge, information, and/or supports accessible for all studentsFamily and Community Engagement8.Welcomes and encourages every family to become active participants in the classroom and school community9.Collaborates with families to create and implement strategies for supporting student learning and development both at home and at school10.Engages in regular, two-way, and culturally proficient communication with families about student learning, behavior and wellness
