Role Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Vehicle Upfitter to join our team. In this role you will be responsible for the professional installation, integration and maintenance of emergency lighting, communication suites (including Motorola APX systems) and specialized equipment in law enforcement, fire and EMS vehicles.

Key Responsibilities Technical Installation :

Install and integrate public safety equipment including lightbars, sirens, push bumpers, partitions, and camera systems.

RF and Communications :

Install and tune mobile radios, antennas, and multi-band frequency systems.

Electrical Systems :

Perform complex 12V DC electrical wiring while troubleshooting power distribution, grounding and interface issues.

Mechanical Integration :

Modify vehicle interiors and exteriors to securely mount consoles, computer docks and equipment racks.

Quality Assurance :

Ensure all installations meet rigorous public safety standards and Mid-State's high-quality aesthetic and functional requirements.

Required Qualifications Experience :

2 or more years of experience in automotive electrical systems, 12V electronics or emergency vehicle upfitting.

Technical Skills :

Proficiency with hand tools, power tools and diagnostic equipment such as multimeters.

RF Knowledge :

Basic understanding of antenna placement and coax routing. Attention to

Ability to follow complex wiring diagrams and produce clean installs with organized wire management.

Compliance :

A valid driver's license is required due to the need to operate and reposition emergency vehicles during installations
