Job Description

Job Summary Energize your career by joining our team as a Public Works Worker! In this vital role, you will be at the forefront of maintaining and improving public infrastructure, ensuring safe, clean, and functional community spaces. Your hands-on work will support essential services such as road maintenance, equipment upkeep, and facility repairs. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute directly to the well-being of residents while developing a broad skill set in public works operations. Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance and repair tasks on roads, sidewalks, parks, and public facilities to ensure safety and functionality. Operate a variety of tools and equipment, including power tools, trucks, and specialized machinery. Conduct inspections of infrastructure to identify hazards or areas needing attention. Assist with installation, repair, and replacement of signage, fencing, and lighting fixtures. Use testing devices such as ohmmeters to troubleshoot electrical systems and ensure proper functioning. Support emergency response efforts by clearing debris or addressing urgent repairs promptly. Maintain detailed records of work performed, materials used, and safety inspections to ensure compliance with regulations. Experience Prior experience working in public works, construction, or maintenance is preferred but not required; on-the-job training will be provided. Familiarity with operating hand tools, power tools, and basic machinery is advantageous. Ability to use testing equipment such as ohmmeters for electrical troubleshooting. Strong physical stamina and the ability to perform manual labor outdoors in various weather conditions. Excellent attention to detail with a focus on safety standards and procedures.
