Job Description

Purchasing Analyst American Cruise Lines is a rapidly growing, nationwide company that is seeking a responsible and detailed orientated Purchasing Analyst based in our corporate office in Guilford, CT. We are searching for a highly analytical and organized person to look deeply into the buying and usage of many consumable and durable goods. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial, purchasing, and/or supply chain analysis. The position will contribute to increased efficiencies of a growing Purchasing Department. This role reports to the Purchasing Manager with direct contact with many other departments throughout the company. The person in this position will have the opportunity to make recommendations to senior management for efficiency and process improvements. Responsibilities:
Invoice/PO analysis to identify discrepancies between what was ordered and what was received.
Specifically looking at:
pricing, quantities & substitutions. Price comparisons for like goods and services across regions. Analyze onboard requests for accuracy to increase efficiency in the buying process. Identify areas of improvements, for example: underutilizations & over purchasing. Vendor price analysis and negotiations like periodically reviewing pricing, identifying better pricing opportunities, and support renegotiation as needed. Special projects as directed.
Qualifications:
Degree in Finance, Supply Chain Management, Statistical Analysis, or similar with analytical focus. 1-5 years prior experience in an analytical role. Strong MS Office knowledge with a focus on Excel. Sense of urgency with all tasks. Excellent time management skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Highly motivated. Ability to solve problems. Must have a valid motor vehicle license.
