Job Description Summary:
Responsible for the overall operation of the Purchasing Department. Oversees and manages the flow of supplies and equipment from acquisition through disposition to ensure both clinical and operational business needs are met. Develops, implements, and maintains departmental policies and procedures to support efficient and compliant procurement activities.Schedule:
Full-time Days (40hrs/week). No weekends/no holidays.Essential Functions:
Administers and enforces departmental policies and procedures, ensuring staff compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements. Monitors and maintains internal control practices related to purchasing, receiving, and distribution of supplies. Manages daily operations of the Purchasing Department, ensuring efficiency and service excellence. Provides leadership to departmental staff, including: Conducting performance evaluations Managing corrective actions Leading staff meetings Tracking departmental goals Approving accounting invoices Preparing for regulatory surveys and inspections Supporting quality improvement initiatives and safety reporting Oversees vendor management processes, including VendorMate administration, vendor evaluations, and resolution of vendor-related concerns or complaints. Administers the departmental charge card program and oversees procurement card (P-card) transactions for system purchases. Analyzes and manages freight costs, identifying optimal receipt and distribution methods to maximize efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
