This site will play a critical role in supporting our growing customer base and represents a major investment in innovation, quality, and community. What You'll Do The Purchasing Specialist supports the Purchasing and Supply Chain functions by coordinating procurement activities that ensure continuity of supply and operational efficiency. This role is responsible for the daily administration and execution of purchase transactions, supplier communication, and cross-functional collaboration to support business objectives. The position regularly interfaces with suppliers and internal stakeholders to drive performance, cost control, and supply reliability. What You Bring The following responsibilities are representative and not all-inclusive. Additional duties may be assigned as needed. Process and manage purchase order changes, including deferrals, expedites, and cancellations. Monitor and report on unacknowledged and past-due orders; proactively manage supplier follow-up and resolution. Perform price and cost analytics; update material cost standards and variance data within ERP systems. Support supplier business reviews to evaluate performance, identify improvement opportunities, and drive accountability. Issue Requests for Quotation (RFQs), review supplier responses, and manage bid lists. Administer supplier price updates, evaluate cost increase requests, and support negotiation efforts. Coordinate supplier readiness activities for new product introductions (NPI/NPD). Lead or support corrective action processes related to critical material shortages. Contribute to supply chain optimization initiatives aimed at improving material flow, reducing waste, and generating cost savings. Provide training and mentorship to Purchasing Coordinators and Associates. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or a related field. Three (3) or more years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to travel up to 25%. Preferred Qualifications Professional certifications in Supply Chain or Procurement (e.g., CPSM, CPIM, CSCP). Experience in a manufacturing environment. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint. Proven ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.
