ELIGIBLE CANDIDATES NEED THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school and three years of increasingly responsible experience in purchasing, inventory and receiving, or any combination of training and experience that could likely provide the desired knowledge and abilities. Bilingual (English-Spanish) proficiency preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Seeing to read a variety of materials. Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard. Sitting for extended periods of time. Hearing and speaking to exchange information in person and on the telephone.
ELIGIBILITY LIST
An eligibility list will be created from this recruitment and will be good for one year or until the list is exhausted. It will be used as follows: 1.To fill the current vacancy, 2.To fill future permanent vacancies which may occur during the life of the eligibility list; 3.To create a list of substitutes for the current class and other related classes. Substitutes work on an as-needed basis to fill in for absent employees.

The exam consists of different categories based on classification such as grammar, spelling, punctuation, basic math, reading comprehension, safety, and principles, and/or practices of the trade or profession. The passing score is 70%. No candidate may be admitted to the examination without the "applicant's" authorization email/invitation. Applicants successful in the examination will be placed on an Eligibility List good for up to one year, first by employment status followed by rank order of their examination scores plus seniority credit/veterans points where applicable. If fewer than three eligibles are available the appointing authority may choose to appoint any of them or it may request a new examination. Merit Rule 50.200.4 (B)
SELECTION PROCEDURE
Merit Rule #50.100.2 (B) Any permanent classified employees of the District who voluntarily resigns from his permanent position may be reinstated or reemployed by the Board of Education of the District within 39 months after his last day of paid service and without further competitive examination, to a position in his former classification as a permanent or limited-term employee in a related lowers class in which the employee formerly had permanent status. Merit Rule #50.200.1 A.Names shall be certified for appointment from employment lists in the sequence that follows: 1.Automatic appointments to Layoff Reemployment list candidates, until exhausted; 2.Promotional eligibility list (three ranks); 3.If less than three ranks of Promotional candidates are available, the remaining rank(s) are to be obtained from the Open eligibility list. B.In addition, the following candidates will be eligible to interview for the vacancy(s): "Request to Transfer" requests meeting at least one of the following criteria: 1.A classification within the same range or higher in a related classification; or 2.An employee who has taken a voluntary demotion being restored to his former class or to a related lower class, within 39 months

Telephone techniques and etiquette. Operation of a computer terminal and standard business machines. Correct oral and written usage of English.
ABILITY TO
Perform a variety of duties involving the use of independent judgment. Maintain detailed records for a variety of supplies Prepare statistical and financial reports. Add, subtract, multiply and divide quickly and accurately. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Compile and verify data and prepare reports. Read, interpret, apply and explain rules, regulations, contract agreements, policies and procedures. Keyboard at an acceptable rate of speed. Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with staff and the public. Meet schedules and timelines. Complete work with many interruptions.
