Clarificion from the agency In order to be eligible for this position you must currently be an Enlisted Member (E5/SGT - E9/SGM) or a Warrant Officer (W1/WO1-W2/CW2) in the Virginia Army Nional Guard OR Not Currently in the Virginia Army Nional Guard but you must be willing and eligible to immediely Join the Virginia Army Nional Guard one of those military ranks. Duties Help As a Quality Assurance Specialist, GS-1910-09, you will perform the below duties: Develops the AASF Quality Management Plan (QMP) th documents the management and operional policies and procedures to ensure work processes, products, or services sisfy expections and quality standards. Reviews Army meriel maintenance policies and operional procedures. Assesses quality assurance programs of other Department of Defense (DoD) services and analyzes commercial maintenance practices to establish a comprehensive Quality Program (QP) for the AASF. Develops quality assessment plans to evalue and improve quality of maintenance production and work processes. Assessments include reviews of management and organizion; quality systems; personnel qualificions and training; supply procedures; facilities; tools and test equipment; maintenance documention; operions and training requirements, and equipment failures. Conducts evaluions to identify strength problem areas, failure trends, faults in methods and procedures, and other deviions from quality standards. Develops local regulions and/or opering instructions for implemention of the quality assurance and reliability program and ensures compliance with procedures. Prepares quality assurance opering instructions, local forms, checklists, and other merial. Serves as quality assurance authority in the AASF. Acts as a consultant to higher-ranking personnel on quality assurance/verificion mters. Provides the Logistics Management Officer/Supervisory Maintenance Test Pilot and maintenance supervisors with definitive technical informion and advice on maintenance procedures and techniques. Resolves technical problems in support of the quality assurance program. Maintains the AASF master library. Manages technical publicions accounts. Ensures th approprie directives and opering instructions are current and complete. Reviews incoming publicions to determine their applicability. Provides technical guidance and expertise in interpretion of technical manuals (TM), and acts as the authoritive reference on quality methods, techniques, and procedures. Resolves conflicts in the interpretion of published da. Monitors the AASF publicion improvement system to include the recommended changes to publicions and blank forms (DA Form 2028) and merial deficiency, and Quality Deficiency Reports (QDR). Provides findings and recommendions based on experience and technical judgment. Manages the Safety-of-Flight (SOF) and Aviion Safety Action Message (ASAM) programs to ensure effective and timely accomplishment. Reviews incomingSOF/ASAM
for applicability to AASF supported equipment. Evalues technical and meriel requirements for compliance. DistributesSOF/ASAM
to production elements for accomplishment. Monitors compliance actions and prepares and forwards compliance reports. Monitors aircraft acceptance/transfer inspections, aircraft configurions, and component time-change requirements. Periodically reviews aircraft historical records and logbooks for accuracy and condition. Monitors the Army Oil Analysis Program (AOAP). Manages the weight and balance program. Performs equipment inventories; assures proper set up and calibrion of electronic weighing apparus; monitors aircraft weighing operions; verifies instrument readings, resolves weight and balance problems, and certifies weight and balance computions. Performs command directed quality inspections and special inspections for all aspects of aircraft and associed equipment. Insures th compliance inspections are performed in accordance with standards. Records discrepancies, provides definitive corrective recommendions, and reviews adequacy of corrective action taken. Reviews findings to determine adequacy of maintenance documention. Performs inspections of maintenance shops for safety and condition of equipment. Monitors calibrion of shop and test equipment to ensure serviceability. Certifies and maintains files of personnel authorized to perform quality inspections. Performs management and compliance reviews over a wide range of functions within the AASF. Reports deviions and deficiencies. Prepares recommendions on the resolution of deficiencies affecting production or maintenance quality. Reviews and valides all locally developed maintenance procedures before adoption within the AASF. Investiges equipment failure trends on aircraft airframes and components and systems. Makes recommendions to approprie manufacturing agencies regarding equipment performance engineering design changes. Incumbent is required to wear approprie protective clothing or gear such as safety glasses, ear protection, and hard-h, and observe all safety precautions when accomplishing inspections.
