Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented QA Auditor to join our dynamic team at Mauer USA. Responsible for analyzing and monitoring product performance, implementing product testing, reviewing and approving test results, and tracking key test metrics. Supports the ongoing maintenance and improvement of product quality. Night Shift Position
ONLY - 7
00pm - 7:30am, working a schedule of Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday (36 hours) one week and Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday (48 hours) the next week. Responsibilities- Maintains safe working practices as instructed and avoids unnecessary risks to ensure a secure work environment.
- Flexibility to adapt to a changing environment and changes in procedures.
- Inspecting output samples using industry-appropriate methods, such as comparing to standards, measuring dimensions, and examining functionality
- Training the production team on quality control measures to improve product excellence.
- Collecting and compiling statistical quality data
- Assisting in the development of test methods and inspection plans
- Determining the causes of product defects and reworks
- Perform targeted evaluations as directed to support process improvement efforts and meet weekly contractual obligations.
- Represent KM Packaging internally and externally regarding the Quality Assurance.
- Observe safety, general and statutory regulations and inform superiors about any perceptible safety and health hazards.
- Carry out additional tasks as needed to support overall business objectives.
- OT as needed
Quality Walks:
o Record resin information on the Traceability sheet. o Review the Production Order to check all information is correct on labels (part number, machine number, customer and customers part number, Color number, ect.) o Check the color barrel to ensure that it matches the color number on the Production Order. o Check Black Box (MPI blender box) to make sure color percentage is set correctly according to the Production Order. Also make sure the weight alarm is enabled. o Ensure the tolerance monitoring is "on." o Fill out all quality information (findings) on the Traceability and Daily Production Log at each press. o At each press take 2 shots. 1 shot is to be inspected at the press for any defects. If the caps look good, collect the other shot (do a quick inspection) place in a plastic bag with the proper tags. o Ensure there is a "signed off" cap at the press to complete a color check. If there is no "signed off" cap use the color standard (the cap is to be matched with what is currently running). o If there are any findings, report to the Package Operator and/or Process Tech after recording findings on the Daily Production Log. o After completing the above steps and confident that all is correct, move on to the next press and repeat above steps. o Once the first walk is completed, take the bags collected from the presses to the Quality Lab for testing.Product Testing and Measurements:
o All caps that are collected at the press during the walk need to be tested and measurements are to be performed according to the customer's requirement and record the data on the COA/COC.Product Auditing and Releasing:
o Perform an AQL level 2 audit on all products. If no findings place a release sticker with initials and date.Qualifications:
- Must be able to read instructions, production orders, and simple drawings and follow instructions given by Supervisor/Manager.
- Must be a team player, work to safe standards and have a 'can do' and 'do it right' attitude where good products and customer service are paramount.
- Capable of maintaining concentration over a 12-hour shift to inspect products to given standards and maintain a safe working environment.
- Able to lift weight up to 50lbs.
- Able to write clearly and contribute to improvement efforts, proactively identifying opportunities to avoid issues before they impact safety, quality, or cost.
Requires High School Diploma or GED Working Conditions:
- This position is a 12-hour shift, nights, 7:00pm - 7:30am, working a schedule of Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday (36 hours) one week and Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday (48 hours) the next week.
- Hours include two paid 15-minute breaks and an unpaid 30-minute lunch break. A 30-minute overlap between shifts is built in to allow for proper handover.
- It is the employee's responsibility to understand and follow all safety instructions.
