Quality Control Technician

Quality Control/Quality Assurance Technician Equal Opportunity Employer Responsibilities:

• Ensure all quality control activities are conducted in conformance with MSHA, OSHA, and company safety policies
• Develop an understanding of the various types of products associated with the aggregate, concrete, and asphalt industries
• Read, understand, and develop good working knowledge of specifications, and Quality Control principles
• Inspect and test aggregate and asphalt products for quality
• Perform all testing in accordance with specifications and testing procedures, and use established best practices to ensure the reliability of results
• Recognize problems related to the quality of aggregate and asphalt products, and make corrective actions as necessary
• Maintain a well-organized lab, office, and document control system
• Acquire and maintain all necessary certifications and qualifications for the aggregate, concrete, and asphalt industries
• Ensure that all test results are reported accurately and on time
• Evaluate and develop mix designs that meet DOT, or FAA requirements as part of the QC/QA team

Requirements:

• Self-motivated to ensure production of quality aggregate and asphalt products meeting the expectations of customers and management
• Proficient in math, reading, and writing
• Demonstrates excellent communication skills
• Able to work in a regulated environment with inspectors present and maintain professionalism as a representative of the company
• Must be willing to work various hours when required, including overtime, nights, and weekends
• Willing to travel occasionally as needed between multiple work sites
• Must pass Pre-Employment drug screening and background check
• Able to lift or move up to 50 pounds repetitively
• Able to stand, walk, sit, reach, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.
• Able to work in an outdoor environment and in all weather conditions

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of asphalt and aggregate quality control methods preferred. Willing to train candidates with the right combination of skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to learn and use various computer software including Microsoft Office
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Proven ability to work with others as a team
• Responsible, reliable, and dependable

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma is required
• Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Math or Science is preferred
• Prior work experience in construction materials or quality control preferred
• Valid driver's license

Pay:

$22.00
