Job Description
Quality Control/Quality Assurance Technician Equal Opportunity Employer Responsibilities:
- Ensure all quality control activities are conducted in conformance with MSHA, OSHA, and company safety policies
- Develop an understanding of the various types of products associated with the aggregate, concrete, and asphalt industries
- Read, understand, and develop good working knowledge of specifications, and Quality Control principles
- Inspect and test aggregate and asphalt products for quality
- Perform all testing in accordance with specifications and testing procedures, and use established best practices to ensure the reliability of results
- Recognize problems related to the quality of aggregate and asphalt products, and make corrective actions as necessary
- Maintain a well-organized lab, office, and document control system
- Acquire and maintain all necessary certifications and qualifications for the aggregate, concrete, and asphalt industries
- Ensure that all test results are reported accurately and on time
- Evaluate and develop mix designs that meet DOT, or FAA requirements as part of the QC/QA team
Requirements:
- Self-motivated to ensure production of quality aggregate and asphalt products meeting the expectations of customers and management
- Proficient in math, reading, and writing
- Demonstrates excellent communication skills
- Able to work in a regulated environment with inspectors present and maintain professionalism as a representative of the company
- Must be willing to work various hours when required, including overtime, nights, and weekends
- Willing to travel occasionally as needed between multiple work sites
- Must pass Pre-Employment drug screening and background check
- Able to lift or move up to 50 pounds repetitively
- Able to stand, walk, sit, reach, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.
- Able to work in an outdoor environment and in all weather conditions
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of asphalt and aggregate quality control methods preferred. Willing to train candidates with the right combination of skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to learn and use various computer software including Microsoft Office
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Proven ability to work with others as a team
- Responsible, reliable, and dependable
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma is required
- Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Math or Science is preferred
- Prior work experience in construction materials or quality control preferred
- Valid driver's license
Pay:
$22.00- $28.
