Job Description

Pay:
$70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year Job description: Quality Engineer Lynn Welding is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Aerospace Quality Engineer with a focus on inspection to join our dynamic team. This role is critical to ensuring that our aerospace products meet the highest industry standards for quality, safety, and performance. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in quality control, inspection techniques, and a thorough understanding of aerospace industry regulations and standards. In addition, the Quality Engineer will also assist the quality management team in supporting the quality objectives related to AS 9100 and NADCAP requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the inspection process of aerospace components, assemblies, and systems to ensure conformance to specifications and quality standards. Conduct visual, dimensional, and functional inspections using industry-standard tools and equipment. Review engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions to understand the required inspection criteria and ensure compliance. Support inspection plans and procedures to support the production and manufacturing of aerospace products. Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and production teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions as necessary. Perform root cause analysis for non-conformities and collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, including
AS9100, AS13100, FAA
regulations, and other aerospace-specific certifications. Maintain detailed records of inspections, test results, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and related documentation for traceability and audits. Participate in internal and external audits to ensure compliance with quality management systems and regulatory requirements. Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying areas for process improvement and contributing to the development of best practices. Assist with supplier quality audits and inspections to ensure the quality of sourced materials and components. Support the inspection team and quality team to complete high priority tasks within the deadlines.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience. Minimum of 2 years of experience in aerospace quality engineering with a focus on inspection and quality control. In-depth knowledge of aerospace industry standards, including
AS9100, AS9110, AS9120, FAA
regulations, and related certifications. Experience with inspection tools and techniques (CMM, micrometers, calipers, optical and surface measurement tools). Strong understanding of engineering drawings, blueprints, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T). Ability to interpret complex technical documents and specifications. Familiarity with failure analysis, root cause analysis, and corrective actions in a manufacturing environment. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. Certification in Quality (e.g., Six Sigma, CQE) is a plus. Knowledge of NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) methods is a plus. Knowledge in welding or familiarity with American Welding Society's and Navsea welding specifications is a plus.
