fuse saver, MV switchgear, MV circuit breakers, and metering, power monitoring, power quality, and protective relay maintenance and systems of a standard nature. We are looking for a Quality Engineer. This position will be based in Wendell, NC. Relocation assistance is available. If so, we invite you to join our team as a Lead Quality Engineer for our brand-new, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Wendell, North Carolina! This is a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of establishing world-class quality standards in a facility designed with advanced AI and automation at its core. You will play a pivotal role in launching our new operations, ensuring that quality is embedded into every process from day one. Beyond the initial launch, you will provide critical quality support for our Customer Service and Power, Protection & Automation business, helping us deliver unparalleled products to our customers, including LV MCC Buckets, MV retrofit, Protection and Automation Industrial panels, and
SIPROTEC
protection relays assembly line. We seek a leader to oversee the setup of manufacturing processes and promote customer focus across assembly lines. Your expertise will be instrumental in leveraging cutting-edge technologies to achieve superior quality and efficiency. This role is focused on Quality Assurance—designing, governing, and continuously improving quality systems and processes. You'll make an impact by:
New Facility Launch & Strategy:
Act as a key quality leader during the launch of our new facility, advising on and implementing quality best practices for manufacturing processes, with a strong emphasis on AI and automation integration.
Customer Focus Champion:
Instill and ensure a customer-focused mindset is consistently applied across all stages of our assembly lines.
Quality Plan Development:
Develop and maintain comprehensive Quality Plans specifically tailored for the assembly lines.
Production Quality Planning:
Lead and ensure comprehensive production quality planning is established and maintained at all stages of the assembly lines. Partner with the business to design quality into takt, flow, and capacity models.
Process Risk Assessment:
Lead and facilitate process risk assessments using methodologies like PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis).
Quality Standards Implementation:
Develop and implement rigorous quality standards for all stages of the assembly lines.
Root Cause Analysis & CAPA Leadership:
Lead multidisciplinary teams in performing robust Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for failures, defects, and non-conformities. Drive effective Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) processes using methodologies such as 8Ds, A3S, and Ishikawa diagrams.
Nonconformance Reduction:
Spearhead initiatives and projects aimed at reducing nonconformances at various stages of the assembly lines.
Quality KPI Improvement:
Lead efforts to continuously improve key Quality Performance Indicators (KPIs) across the facility.
Audit Management:
Conduct and manage audit processes based on ISO standards across different stages of the assembly lines and customer onboarding audits at Siemens.
Stakeholder Communication & Representation:
Effectively communicate quality requirements, improvement ideas, and performance data to diverse audiences, including shop floor employees, cross-functional teams, and executive leadership. Serve as the primary quality representative for customers during internal/external audits.
Data Analysis & Reporting:
Utilize advanced data analysis techniques to monitor quality performance, identify trends, and predict potential issues. Develop and maintain dashboards using tools such as Power BI and Salesforce to deliver clear, actionable insights and regularly produce quality reports for management. Ownership of MMA for site launch: Lead multidisciplinary teams to successfully perform a Factory Manufacturing Maturity Assessment audit Quality KPI reporting: Participate in assembly line daily walks and reporting, also own reporting to management and HQ for quality KPI per assembly line You'll win us over by having the following qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering (e.g., Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing) or a related technical field. 5+ years of progressive experience in Quality Engineering within a manufacturing environment. Proven expertise in implementing and optimizing quality processes utilizing automation. Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide and mentor multidisciplinary teams without direct authority. In-depth knowledge and practical experience with Root Cause Analysis (8D, A3, Ishikawa) and CAPA processes. Proficiency in process risk assessment methodologies (PFMEA, DFMEA) Experience with tools and systems like SAP, Salesforce, and Power BI. Understanding and experience with ISO standards and auditing processes.
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience in launching new manufacturing facilities or significant production lines from a quality perspective. Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification is a plus. Experience with electrical products is highly desirable.

The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
