The Project QC/QA Engineer will work in a fast-paced construction environment under the direction of the Construction Manager. The Project QC/QA Engineer will oversee quality aspects of electrical, mechanical, and structural installations, helping to ensure compliance with uptime, reliability, and safety standards and conformance to the project Quality Control plan. He/she will actively administer the overall QC plan, oversee subcontractors' QC plans, and maintain all testing logs, documentation, and reports.TYPE:

18-24 months with good chance of extension.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain and administer an effective quality control system and plan.
- Review contract documents, regulatory requirements, project specifications and testing protocols to understand the quality benchmarks for each trade.
- Facilitate preparatory and progress meetings to align quality objectives with construction activities and schedules.
- Interface with sub-contractors to manage quality-related risks and ensure compliance with the client's QC program.
- Maintain a Material Status Log and a Testing Plan.
- Coordinate QC inspection personnel and sampling, as well as testing at off-site fabrication facilities, QC labs, and on-site operations.
- Schedule and oversee all necessary sub-contractor destructive and nondestructive testing (electrical, mechanical, structural, and civil).
- Ensure all method statements, inspection and test plans (ITPs), and material certifications align with project specs and regulatory requirements.
- Forward submittals to the appropriate team member and follow-up to make sure that submittals are reviewed and approved on time.
- Conduct daily field inspections across all trades to verify that workmanship and materials meet approved submittals.
- Witness site acceptance tests, compiling results to ensure compliance with project standards and codes.
- Work with corporate & 3rd-party design engineers and others to help resolve quality-related technical issues on site.
- Verify that components are correctly installed, labeled, and ready for commissioning, catching issues like mis-wired conductors or missing grounding before energization.
- Produce and maintain detailed electronic daily reports, inspection logs, submittal registers, RFI logs, maintenance logs, and punch-lists.
- Issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and track corrective actions through resolution.
- Archive all QA/QC documentation in accordance with client's record-keeping requirements.
- Standard working time is expected to average 50 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with some Saturday or Sunday hours during busier periods.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, electrical mechanical or related field, OR a 2-year associate's degree with relevant field technical experience.
- Total of 8+ years in heavy industrial construction quality roles, with at least 3 years in a decision-making or supervisory capacity (defining, executing, or controlling QA/QC processes and plans).
- Hands-on experience on heavy industrial or large-scale projects (factories, power plants, petrochemical facilities, data centers, etc.), with emphasis on electrical installations.
- Demonstrated experience with large-scale Mission Critical (MC) projects, including hands-on involvement with high voltage and medium voltage electrical systems, is required to ensure safe and compliant inspections.
MC QA/QC
electrical inspection competencies: o Operating in high-pressure, zero-failure environments- Proven ability to perform under stringent uptime requirements where system reliability is paramount. o Coordinating complex multi-trade activities
- Skilled in managing interdisciplinary workflows with active owner involvement, ensuring seamless integration across electrical, mechanical, and commissioning teams. o Executing daily LOTO procedures and live system inspections
- Experienced in working with energized systems and phased commissioning tasks, maintaining strict safety and procedural compliance. o Utilizing commissioning tracking systems
- Demonstrated proficiency or adaptability in using CX platforms to manage issue resolution, verification processes, and closeout documentation.
NEC, NFPA
70E, IEEE, and coordination with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) Important note: Candidates with general electrical experience, particularly those without direct exposure to mission critical data center environments, will not meet the specialized requirements of this role- A high level of specialization in mission critical data center environments is required. Candidates with this background demonstrate a deep understanding of the technical complexities, operational standards, and performance expectations required to succeed in high-stakes, zero-failure settings.
- Prior hands-on working experience with CSA, CX process mapping, load bank equipment, substations, bus duct, cable bus, MV and LV projects.
- Proficiency in monitoring structural documentation such as weld mapping, bolt-up flange mapping, heat numbers, Mill Test Reports (MTRs) and all relevant test reports supporting data center construction.
- Knowledge of mechanical quality checks on HVAC systems, humidity sensors, and airflow management.
- Track record of developing and implementing site-specific QA/QC programs, managing inspection teams, and resolving non-conformances.
- Problem solving and conflict resolution to quickly address quality deviations.
- Detail-oriented mindset coupled with an ability to see the "big picture" of project delivery schedules.
- Proficiency in reading/interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and codes (NEC, ACI, AWS, ASTM, API, ISO).
- Hands-on knowledge of inspection and testing methods (NDT, soil/concrete sampling, weld inspection, coating thickness).
- Familiarity with QA/QC software and document-control systems (Procore, Aconex, BIM 360).
- Statistical process control and root-cause analysis capabilities.
- Professional certifications (such as CCQM, CWI, CQE, CCM, and OSHA) are strongly preferred but not required.
- Good physical health and mobility.
- Strong verbal and written English communication: drafting reports, NCRs, and presenting findings to stakeholders.
- Must be able to demonstrate effective teamwork, maintain a professional demeanor, and foster positive relationships inside and outside the team.
- Willingness to travel/relocate for future projects within the continental USA.
