Job Title:
1st Shift Quality Inspector Job Description The Quality Inspector performs incoming inspections on products and materials, using both visual and dimensional inspection methods to ensure they meet specified standards and customer requirements. This role relies heavily on computer use to access and interpret prints and documentation, and requires strong attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to work independently as the sole quality inspector on the shift. Responsibilities Perform incoming inspections on products and materials to verify compliance with specifications and quality standards. Use a computer system to access, review, and interpret prints, drawings, and related documentation for inspection activities. Conduct dimensional inspections using calipers, gauges, and other measuring tools to confirm product dimensions and tolerances. Carry out detailed visual inspections to identify defects, nonconformities, and cosmetic issues. Apply quality control and quality assurance principles to ensure consistent inspection practices and accurate documentation. Perform first article inspections as needed to validate new or revised parts and processes. Support moisture testing and related quality checks when required. Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings, or apply strong math skills to verify dimensions and specifications. Document inspection results accurately and clearly in the appropriate systems or forms. Communicate inspection findings, nonconformities, and quality concerns promptly and clearly to relevant team members. Work independently as the only quality inspector on the shift, managing workload and priorities with minimal supervision. Collaborate with production and other departments to support continuous improvement and resolve quality issues. Follow all safety procedures and participate actively in safety and quality initiatives. Essential Skills Proven experience in quality inspection, quality control, or quality assurance in a manufacturing or similar environment. Strong computer skills and confidence using computer systems as a core part of daily work. Ability to access and interpret prints and technical documentation using a computer. Proficiency in dimensional inspection using calipers, gauges, and other measurement tools. Demonstrated visual inspection skills with strong attention to detail. Blueprint reading skills or strong math skills as a core requirement. Effective communication skills with the ability to share information clearly and professionally. Ability to work independently as the sole quality inspector on the shift while maintaining high standards. High level of personal organization, reliability, and accountability for inspection results. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with SAP or similar enterprise systems is a plus. Experience in first article inspection is beneficial. Familiarity with moisture testing processes is an advantage. Bilingual communication skills are a plus. Experience in a safety-conscious, continuous improvement environment is helpful. Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pinellas Park, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
